Just wanted you to  know that I suffered from melasma for over fifteen years and had to wear sunscreen every day (often reapplying several times per day) to prevent my face from breaking out in dark patches (side effect of taking lupron for fibroids). I have not used sunscreen since using shea butter and I do not break out in dark patches even in the intense Florida sun. I used to wear sun hat, sun glasses plus holding a newspaper up to my face to prevent the rays coming from the side. Thank God that torture is over. Interesting thing is, I wrote my findings on the melasma bulletin board to share the good news. A few people said they would investigate. Of course my findings were attacked too. Anyhow I am thrilled. The side effect is my skin is now being praised for its 'glow'. I can hardly believe it. One friend who is twelve years younger than I whose skin I always admired (I am 50) said to me recently "You do not have to wear make up because your skin is so good, but I need it." This had the 'typical' shea scent...but delicate...not overwhelming. In color it's a creamy

testing out the Nigerian BAS added to my own super-fatted CP I have to say an interesting

phenomena occurs. The soaps are wonderful, lathers beautifully, emollient, and great on the

skin (especially my eczema). The NBAS also causes the soap to become very hard quickly;

much harder than I have ever experienced before (even in my un-gelled soaps). The bars look

very interesting freckled with the BAS. A nice white, without any colorants added nor TD.
