~ Traditionally "rolled" Ghana African black soap

~ Fair trade: "Village Fresh" Alata Saminaa, African black soap.

Throughout Africa's historical time line, each family has continued to formulate their own unique methods and ingredients, for hand crafting these very labor-intensive products. To date, their original "true" recipes remain a mystery. They have continued their success, by passing each formulation down from one generation to another, as they have for hundreds of years. Our organic black soaps (from Ghana, Africa) are natural traditional cleansers. Black soap provides rich, creamy, lather with no chemicals, and no animal fat additives, and is basically crafted on what Americans usually think of as "lye soap" recipes. What to expect: luxurious moisturizing lather, superior cleansing, a wonderful texture, and organic traditional "real" African black soap ingredients. We prefer these recipes because they clean thoroughly without presenting problems like over drying or severe skin irritations. We think they are perfect; wonderful, organic products, and have not yet been successfully duplicated in the states.

"Organic" African black soap provides natural, effective, overall skin care, and works in perfect natural harmony with certified African Shea butter. To this day, they remain one of mother nature's best-kept secrets.

INGREDIENTS: plantain leaves, vitamins A and E, iron, paw paw fruit, virgin palm oil, raw African Shea butter, cocoa pods, organic oils, and natural rainforest herbs derived solely from Ghana, Africa. There are no artificial color enhancers, and no chemical preservatives used to produce our organic African black soap.

USES: Preventing and healing acne, deep skin cleansing, preventing premature wrinkles, ridding the scalp of dandruff, eliminating bumps and spots on the skin while improving texture, and adding moisture and brilliance. Organic black soaps also balance oily skin, assist with healing eczema, while aiding in prevention of premature wrinkling, and is also commonly used to remove fungus from body areas. These wonderful soaps are also excellent for washing both natural and permed hair, as it leaves it well conditioned, and sensually soft.

SUGGESTED USE: Sensitive, Normal, and Oily Skin

USES: blemish relief, helps even skin tones and fade uneven dark spots, deep cleansing, antiseptic, naturally helps remove body fungus, provides moisturizing thick lather for facial, body and cleansing the scalp.

Traditional African Black Soap (Alata Samina) 100% Natural/Vegan.

*Yes, this is the same natural soap as above. What's the difference? This version of African black soap, also literally takes "all day" to make it by hand; yet, it is not cooked for the same extended length of time as African black soap in the darker version listed above. The end result is simply a smoother, harder, concentrated bar of soap. As with both versions, a small amount will last a long time.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Organic Ghana African Black Soap -  I was once very neutral about Traditional African Black Soap from Ghana but, having used it for almost 5 years now, I continue to be fascinated with the texture, the cleansing which continued to control acne and the softening effect it has on my skin. It has a mild, clean, natural smell (not offensive or oily like some seem to imagine) wonderfully moisturizing, and always gives a scrumptious, creamy lather that is somewhat addictive. It is an excellent cleaner for all skin types, and will always be a definitely staple in my household.

HISTORY: African Black soaps are called "Alata" in Ghana, and "Dudu Osun" in Nigeria. Black soaps are an important part of African purification rituals, and ceremonial rites of passage. These wonderful soaps are ancient products that are still used daily, and highly treasured in African households, and to date, are used in conjunction with Shea butter.

ORGANIC BLACK SOAPS: are difficult to make, and for African women the process involve long hours of intense labor. They are used effectively for removing body odors, rashes, acne, ringworm, miscellaneous skin ailments, to thoroughly cleanse and even skin tones, and to help remove and prevent blemishes on the skin.

The production and importing of black soaps are a strong economic base for African women in Africa. The authentic, original recipes vary from region to region, and remain highly guarded against outside communities. At AromaKaye.com, we appreciate your interest in African communities, women's empowerment, and the economic strength that each purchase provides.

INTERESTING AFRICAN BLACK SOAP FACTS:

Ghana's organic soaps are called "black soap" because throughout Africa's history these products were referred to as the "soap that black people used."

Black soap is African Shea butter's companion product. They work simultaneously together, in harmony; thus providing optimum health for your skin.

African Black soap can be used by anyone: skin color, ethnicity, and gender does not matter. It is soap!
